This past week I had a great opportunity to join the DEMO Conference team as the social media / internet video adviser and sponsor.
Barry Hurd, my partner and I worked to provide new exposure opportunities for the 2010 DEMO companies by leveraging integrated HD video interviews via DEMO TV, social media strategies and universal search engine optimization. In addition, we setup an internet monitoring dashboard to help companies track news coverage, social media mentions and other internet content such as photos and videos. The end goal is to provide DEMO with a leading-edge, real-time events platform that will provide new avenues to drive exposure for the presenting DEMO companies.
It was very interesting to see all of the details that goes into hosting a conference of this type that provides international media exposure. The production team and technology to create the event was impressive. Speakers commented that the DEMO pre-event preparation team was first class and provided a lot of value for their dollars. Then there was the media exposure. I met people from every major news organization both traditional and from new media outlets such as Mashable.com . Lastly, DEMO has done a great job to attract investors from angels to VCs and corporate venture funds.
