Personal Mobile Video Tied to Social Networking Grows Fast!

The new iPhone 3GS is making waves in the personal video space with a huge 400% spike in YouTube uploads. This is in addition to the 1700% increase in YouTube mobile phone uploads in the last two quarters.

Today, video on the internet is the fasted growing communications medium of all time, faster then even social networking. The new iPhone and other smart phones with video cameras and editing capabilities will prime the pump for new forms of video marketing.

A new mobile video startup called TwitVid http://www.twitvid.com/ has a new iPhone application that enables you to post your videos to Twitter and Facebook, MySpace and YouTube right form your phone. The consumer demand for video is obvious and this should be a signal to all companies to build their video marketing operations immediately.

Mobile Video Projectors are one Year Away - Unless you are in Korea, then you can buy one Today

In a year from now we will start to see the roll out of Personal Video Projectors built into mobile phones. A Seattle based company called Microvision is launching their live of Pico Projectors this summer.

Social + Media = Social Media | When Mobile Devices become Media Production and Control Devices

There are also a number of new mobile multimedia inventions available today that are not covered by the main stream press or even the “social media press” on Twitter. I have to laugh when I go to “social media” events and really the events are all about the “social” part and social communication sites like Twitter. Media types like videos are what we share as visual content on social media networks. Viral videos travel around the world over night and gain millions of views if they tap in memes that are trending. In the next three years, the world mobile networks will be bogged down with a new form of “Social Media” and this media will be created and sent to friends, then remixed and sent back, all on the fly from your mobile phone. Here is a sample of exciting “cutting edge” iPhone software that controls both visual and audio media assets. This is the future, available today.

Mobile Music and Video Multimedia Jam

Portable mobile video projectors will create entire new forms of entertainment and communication when paired with innovated software. Check this out. Imagine jamming with friends using a “visual instrument” controlled by your iPhone and iPhone video mini projector.

Mobile Phone as Remote Control

Imagine walking up to a store window, pulling out your phone and selecting videos on the store front window display to show you a variety of fashion show videos. Each dress in the window is featured in the fashion show. Now imagine leaving digital graffiti on a display at a shopping mall. Your friend leaves you a video graffiti message with fun sparkles, GPS coordinates to the shopping mall and a note to go to the mall to see your message. This type of super convergence and technology is available today.

OSC

A software protocol called OSC provides the “glue” to translate instructions for all types of devices. I currently use OSC to connect my Nintendo Wii Controller to my live visualization particle software, so I am able to “draw with light” using the Wii controller as a magic wand.

I use OSC with an iPhone App called Touch OSC, basically a Jazz Mutant Lemur knock off for your iPhone. The future is here today and the global market is primed for explosive growth for creative entrepreneurs and marketers to make some serious revenues by getting a head of the mobile video supernova that is expanding the galaxy.
